Fliki vs Pictory (2026): Cost per Minute, Voices, Avatars and Which to Pick, with NoobClaw for 9:16 Shorts

· 9 min read · By NoobClaw Editorial Team · NoobClaw official blog
TL;DR
  • Fliki is cheaper per finished minute ($0.19–$0.47 on Standard, from its own 60–90-minute FAQ figure); Pictory costs $0.39–$0.97 but prints a fixed minute allowance.
  • Fliki Standard caps exports at 15 minutes and re-charges credits when edits regenerate audio; Pictory allows 30-minute script videos and grants annual credits up front.
  • Pick Fliki for multilingual videos and short clips, Pictory for long YouTube videos, blog URLs, slides and cheap stock avatars.
  • NoobClaw only fits 9:16 narrated shorts across several accounts: no long-form 16:9, no avatars documented, review auto-picked footage.

Fliki vs Pictory comes down to two questions: how long are your videos, and how often do you rewrite the script after the first render? Fliki is cheaper per finished minute and covers far more voice languages, but it caps Standard exports at 15 minutes and charges again whenever a text or voice edit regenerates the audio. Pictory costs more per minute, but it prints a minute allowance on every plan, allows 30-minute script videos and imports PowerPoint files even on the trial. We opened both pricing pages on 23 October 2026; the table below puts the numbers side by side, with NoobClaw as a third column for 9:16 shorts.

Cost per finished minute: Fliki vs Pictory pricing

Headline prices are within a dollar of each other ($28 vs $29 a month). The difference shows up when you divide by the minutes each plan actually exports.

How we got there: Fliki's FAQ says the Standard plan's 180 credits make videos with a "cumulative duration" of 60 to 90 minutes, so we divided the price by both ends. Fliki gives no minute figure for Premium, so we scaled its 600 credits by the same ratio; treat that row as an estimate. Fliki's own estimator on the same page shows 0.5 credits per minute for stock footage, which would mean 360 minutes on Standard. The FAQ figure is the one we use, because it is Fliki's own practical number and it is the more conservative one.

Pictory's figures are printed on the plan cards, so there's less to interpret. One detail changes how they behave: "Annual plans grant all credits upfront." On Pictory annual, 360 Starter minutes can go into one busy month. Fliki shows yearly Standard as "2160 credits per year", but its page doesn't say whether those arrive at once or monthly.

The real gap is narrower than the table suggests if you rewrite a lot. Fliki's FAQ says changing the text, the voice or the pauses makes it regenerate the audio "and charges credits". Its own example puts Standard at 60 one-minute videos or 6 ten-minute videos, "depending on how often one edits the script". If you rewrite each script three times, expect the per-minute figure to climb toward Pictory's.

Voices, avatars and editing: where the two tools differ

Voices and languages

Fliki is the clear pick for languages. Its pricing page lists 80+ languages on every plan, 1,000 voices on Standard and a Translate workflow on paid plans. Pictory runs voiceover on ElevenLabs; its help article (dated December 2024, so check before you rely on it) gives 29 languages for premium multilingual voices and only 7 for standard voices: English, Dutch, French, German, Italian, Portuguese and Spanish. For one video in five languages, Fliki is built for it; Pictory is fine if you work in English or a major European language.

Avatars

Both have presenters, gated differently. Pictory includes stock video avatars on every plan, the trial included, and adds 2 custom avatars on Professional. Fliki Standard has "limited stock avatars"; all avatars and photo avatars need Premium at $88/month. If an on-screen presenter is the point, Pictory Starter ($29, or $25 billed annually) is the cheaper way to a full stock-avatar library; Fliki's $28 Standard only has a limited set.

Editing model

Both are scene-based. Fliki splits a pasted script into scenes and places each one as a clip on a timeline, with stock, AI-generated or your own visuals per scene. Pictory's AI video agent plans the script and scenes, and you then review and refine them in its scene editor. Pictory also has a separate AI video editor for existing footage, with 60-minute uploads on Starter and 180 on Professional. That makes it the better choice for cutting webinars or recordings into clips.

Branding, exports and teams

Both remove their watermark on any paid plan and export up to 1080p. Pictory exports subtitles as .srt, .vtt or text on every plan, which helps if you upload captions to YouTube separately. On team use, Fliki keeps team collaboration for Premium, and Pictory sells a Teams plan for 3+ users with shared brand assets.

Our read: if you only make one type of video, the table settles it. If you make both long YouTube videos and shorts, Pictory covers both on one plan (16:9 and 9:16, 30-minute cap). Fliki does too only while your long videos stay under 15 minutes, or on Premium. That's a judgement from the limits above, not a measured result.

Where NoobClaw fits, and where it doesn't

NoobClaw isn't a third general-purpose video editor. Its script-to-video workflow runs in a desktop app for Windows and macOS and turns a script into a 9:16 narrated video. Footage comes from online stock or from clips you upload; the narration is an AI voice, and subtitles are burned into the frame. The result is saved as an MP4 or posted to the accounts you have connected. You need the app online and at least one connected account profile, and generation spends AI credits (1M free for new accounts; paid plans from $9.90/month, see pricing).

NoobClaw's own run log from 10 October 2026 shows what to expect: 441 characters of English script were split into 7 scenes with 28 subtitle segments, and the local-only export was a 1080×1920, 30 fps file lasting 32.6 seconds, finished after 297 seconds of wall time. The run record notes that some auto-picked footage was "generic or off-topic", which is why we'd budget time to swap clips scene by scene. The wizard predicted 98 seconds of video, because its estimate assumes a Chinese reading rate, so check the real file length. That's a single logged run, not a speed or quality test.

Skip NoobClaw for 16:9 long-form, avatar presenters, blog-URL or slide imports, or a published voice-language list. Fliki or Pictory covers those. It makes sense when the job is many short vertical videos across several accounts, each with its own niche and persona, and you want creation and posting in one place. The setup guide walks through the wizard.

FAQ

Is Fliki or Pictory better for YouTube?

For videos over 15 minutes, Pictory, because Fliki Standard caps exports at 15 minutes and Pictory allows 30 minutes per script video. Under 15 minutes, Fliki is cheaper per minute and adds YouTube publishing on paid plans.

Do Fliki and Pictory have free plans?

Fliki has a free-forever plan with 3 credits a month, 720p and a watermark. Pictory has a 14-day trial with 300 credits (up to 10 minutes), 3 videos of up to 5 minutes and Pictory branding.

Which one is better for TikTok?

Both export 9:16. Fliki is cheaper per minute and resizes one render across 9:16, 1:1 and 16:9. If you post to several TikTok accounts with different niches, NoobClaw keeps generation and per-account profiles together. As with any third-party tool, check the platform's current rules.
