Agorapulse vs Hootsuite (2026): Both Charge Per Person, Only One Stops Counting Accounts, and the Flip Comes at 23

TL;DR
  • Both charge per person: Agorapulse $79, $119 or $149 per user per month at annual rates, Hootsuite $99, $199 or $399 per seat, annual rate. The difference is accounts: Agorapulse gives every plan 10 p
  • One person, 10 profiles: $79 vs $99. One person, 30 profiles: $279 vs $199. Three people, 30 profiles: $237 to $437 on Agorapulse against $597 on Hootsuite (September 29, 2026).
  • For one person the flip is at 23 profiles on annual rates: at 22 both are $199, at 23 Agorapulse is $79 + 10 × 13 = $209 against Hootsuite Professional's flat $199. On monthly Agorapulse billing it is
  • X is the widest gap: Agorapulse connects X profiles only through a $29 (Lite) or $69 (Plus) add-on per profile; Hootsuite counts an X account like any other. Five X accounts add $145 a month on one si

Agorapulse starts at $79 and Hootsuite at $99, both per person, both annual rates, but the real difference is what an eleventh account costs. On Agorapulse it is $10 a month, per profile, for as long as you keep it. On Hootsuite it is a single $100-a-month step to Professional, after which the hundredth account costs nothing. For one person running many accounts, the dearer tool is the cheaper one from the 23rd profile on.

We read Agorapulse's pricing page and help centre and Hootsuite's plans page on September 29, 2026 and priced several team shapes. USD before tax, annual rates; Hootsuite publishes no monthly rate.

How do Agorapulse and Hootsuite count what you pay for?

Both count people. Agorapulse's cards read "per user /month": Standard $79, Professional $119, Advanced $149 on the annual toggle, and $99, $149, $199 monthly. The help article Pricing Per User Explained adds: "Each additional user is charged at the same rate as the first user." Hootsuite's FAQ: "Hootsuite plans are sold per user (or 'seat'), so you can add as many users as your organization needs." Its structured data carries $99, $199 and $399 "Billed annually".

Only Agorapulse keeps counting accounts. Its feature table prints "10" social profiles under Standard, Professional and Advanced, "Unlimited" only under the unpriced Custom plan, and shows extra profiles at "$10" a month each on the annual toggle and "$15" on the monthly one. Hootsuite Standard is "Manage up to 10 social media accounts", and the FAQ example makes that a plan limit rather than a per-seat one: "You could manage up to 10 different accounts from one dashboard ... You can share access to these accounts by adding team members." Professional and Advanced are "unlimited social accounts".

One gap in the visible record: the feature table and help article don't say whether a second seat brings a second ten profiles, though the pricing page's structured data describes Standard as "10 social profiles per user". The help article says only that add-ons "increase the number of users and social profiles". We price both readings; the per-seat one is the likelier.

Agorapulse vs Hootsuite pricing: one person with 10, one with 30, three with 30

One person, 10 profiles. Agorapulse Standard $79 (or $99 billed monthly) against Hootsuite Standard $99. Agorapulse wins by $20, and both include a unified inbox.

One person, 30 profiles. Agorapulse: $79 + 20 × $10 = $279 at the annual rate, or $99 + 20 × $15 = $399 billed monthly. Hootsuite: one Professional seat, $199. Hootsuite is $80 to $200 cheaper, and the gap widens: at 50 profiles it is $479 against $199.

Three people, 30 profiles. Hootsuite is three Professional seats, 3 × $199 = $597 a month. Agorapulse is 3 × $79 = $237 if each seat brings its own ten profiles, or $237 + 20 × $10 = $437 if the ten are shared. Either way Agorapulse is cheaper, by $160 or $360.

People are expensive on both tools; only Agorapulse makes accounts expensive too. Few people with many accounts favours Hootsuite; several people with a normal number favours Agorapulse.

At how many profiles does Hootsuite become cheaper than Agorapulse?

For one person, 23. Agorapulse's cheapest route past ten profiles is $79 plus $10 per profile, so $79 + 10 × (n − 10) equals Hootsuite Professional's $199 at n = 22, a tie, and passes it at 23 ($209). On monthly Agorapulse billing the add-on is $15 and the crossover against Hootsuite's annual rate lands at 17 profiles ($99 + 15 × 7 = $204); Hootsuite's monthly rate is unpublished, so that second figure sets a monthly bill against an annual one.

Agorapulse vs Hootsuite (2026) · one person's monthly bill from 1 to 60 profiles, tied at 22 profiles and Hootsuite cheaper from 23 on annual rates, 17 on monthly Agorapulse billing

Every extra person moves the crossover out, because it adds $79 to one side and $199 to the other. For k people the two bills tie where $79k + $10 × (n − 10) = $199k, at n = 12k + 10 profiles, if the ten are shared, or where $79k + $10 × (n − 10k) = $199k, at n = 22k, if each seat brings its own ten. Two people ($398 on Hootsuite): tie at 34 or 44 profiles, Agorapulse dearer from 35 ($158 + 10 × 25 = $408) or 45. Three people ($597): dearer from 47 or 67.

Agorapulse's bill follows your people and your profiles. Hootsuite's follows your people only. One person with a large matrix is the one shape where the dearer tool is the cheaper one.

Two conditions on the 23. Agorapulse's page does not state a maximum number of add-on profiles, so at some size the practical price may be a Custom quote. And Hootsuite's jump to Professional happens at 11 accounts, so a person with 11 to 22 profiles pays $199 on Hootsuite and $89 to $199 on Agorapulse. More in Hootsuite is now sold per seat and what "unlimited social accounts" costs.

What about X accounts, approvals and trials?

X is the widest single gap. Agorapulse's pricing page lists "X Lite" and "X Plus" with "Contact us"; the help article X (Twitter) Lite and X (Twitter) Plus Explained prices X Lite at $29 per connected X profile per month (publishing only) and X Plus at $69 (inbox and reports), and says "An active add-on is required to connect any X profile." Hootsuite's FAQ counts "your personal X account" as an ordinary social account, no surcharge. One person with five X accounts and five others: Agorapulse $79 + 5 × $29 = $224; Hootsuite Standard $99. If your accounts are mostly on X, this row settles it.

Either way, X's own rules apply. If you post through X's API, X's developer policy tells developers to "never post identical or substantially similar content across multiple accounts". Different wording on each account does not by itself make running several accounts compliant with X's rules; X's automation rules and its multiple-account rules still apply to how you operate them.

Approvals sit higher on Hootsuite. Hootsuite lists "Review and approve content with your team" only under Advanced at $399 a seat; Agorapulse's feature table gives "Simple approval workflows" from Professional ($119) and keeps "Multi-step approval workflows" for Custom.

Trials differ in shape. Agorapulse's is 30 days without a card, "two 15-day trials" on the Advanced plan per its trial article. Hootsuite's is 14 days: "Trial accounts have daily posting limits (10-20 posts per organization, depending on plan). Bulk scheduling is not available during trial." Agorapulse's pricing FAQ still says "keep using the free plan for as long as you need", but its help article Agorapulse Free Plan Explained (updated August 3, 2026) states: "Starting July 6, 2026, our Free plan will no longer be available to new or current Free plan users." Its free replacement, the Archie plan, schedules only Archie-generated posts to Facebook, Instagram and LinkedIn, so plan on paying from day 31 if you need the scheduler itself.

A marketer for a chain with "40+ different locations" asked on Reddit on September 25, 2026: "I do know that we can add multiple members to a team in hootsuite, but i dont wanna ramp up the costs of our plan. We are talking about 40+ members added." At today's rates, if all 40 were Professional seats, that is 40 × $199 = $7,960 a month on Hootsuite or 40 × $79 = $3,160 on Agorapulse Standard.

Agorapulse or Hootsuite: which should you pick?

Pick Agorapulse if more than one person needs a login and your accounts number under about 12 to 17 per person (if the ten profiles are shared) or 22 per person (if each seat brings ten): three people with 30 profiles pay $237 to $437 against $597. Keep X accounts off it unless $29 to $69 per profile is acceptable.

Pick Hootsuite if one person runs 23 or more profiles, or your accounts are on X: one person with 50 profiles pays $199 against $479; five X accounts cost nothing extra against $145.

The case against each: Hootsuite's approval feature lives on a $399 seat and every colleague is another $99 to $399; Agorapulse's one-step approvals start at $119. Agorapulse's profile add-on never stops climbing, its X pricing is off the pricing page, and its FAQ still advertises a free plan that ended in July.

What neither sells is the content itself: 30 accounts need 30 posts, and someone has to write them. NoobClaw is one option for that layer: a desktop app that drafts a different post for each account from its own niche and persona and publishes through browser sessions on your own machine, billed per action or per piece of content, with per-platform account limits on each plan. Apart from Reddit it is not an official API integration, and it only runs while your computer is on, so keep a person reviewing. Hootsuite does not: Standard allows 10 accounts per plan, Professional and Advanced are unlimited, and the price is per seat. Agorapulse includes 10 profiles on each plan ("per user", says its pricing page's structured data) and charges $10 (annual) or $15 (monthly) a month for each extra, plus $29 or $69 a month per X profile through its X Lite and X Plus add-ons.
