Yes, you can use one AdSense account for multiple YouTube channels. Google's own setup page says: "You can also monetize more than one YouTube channel using the same AdSense for YouTube account." So "2 YouTube channels, 1 AdSense" is the normal setup, not a workaround. What you cannot do is open a second AdSense account under the same payee name, and each channel still has to qualify for the YouTube Partner Program on its own.

One AdSense account, several channels: the decision table

Comparing the two account pages side by side, the wording differs but the rule is the same: the setup page talks about one account "under the same payee name", while the page for changing accounts puts it as "we only allow one account per user." Neither page sets a maximum number of channels per AdSense for YouTube account.

How to use one AdSense account for multiple YouTube channels: linking channel two

This is the path from Google's setup article, in the section for people who already have an approved account. Do it while signed in to the second channel, not the first.

1. Make sure channel two qualifies. The YPP eligibility page lists 1,000 subscribers plus either 4,000 qualified watch hours in the last 12 months or 10 million qualified Shorts views in the last 90 days.
2. Open YouTube Studio, switch to the second channel, and select Earn in the left menu. Then apply to the Partner Program: select Apply Now, then Start to review and accept the Base terms.
3. On the Sign up for AdSense for YouTube card, click Start, and re-authenticate when asked.
4. Choose the Google account that owns your existing AdSense or AdSense for YouTube account. It can be a different login from the one you use for YouTube.
5. Check that the right email is shown at the top of the page, then click Accept association.
6. You are sent back to the Earn page. A green "Done" mark on the card means the account is connected, and, in Google's words, the channel "will automatically be put in a review queue."

Timing, per the change-account page: linking to an existing account usually takes a few minutes, and the association "can take up to 24 hours" to show in YouTube's systems. The YPP page says review decisions typically take about a month.

If channel two already has its own AdSense account

Go to YouTube Studio, then Earn, find the linked account under the Partner Program options and select Change. Sign in with the Google account that owns the AdSense account you want to keep, confirm your channel URL appears under "Your website", and select Accept association. After that, the 32-day lock applies. If you were holding two accounts under one payee name, the setup page warns you may be asked to close the related accounts, so sort that out before Google does.

What sharing one AdSense account means when something goes wrong

Paying several channels from one account is convenient, but the account is a shared dependency. Google's pages draw a clear line between two kinds of trouble.

A paused channel is the mild case. The paused-monetization page says pausing means the channel earns nothing for that period, and that it "doesn't violate our channel accountability policy" because it is not treated as an abuse event. Demonetization, by contrast, is.

Invalid traffic is the severe case, and it acts on the AdSense account, not the channel. The invalid-traffic page says Google "may disable your account" and that "If a related account has been disabled, our specialists have found that your account poses a risk." Our read: if the one AdSense account behind three channels is disabled, payment for all three stops, and you cannot fix it by opening a new account. Google's page does not spell out the effect on each linked channel, so treat that as inference.

The page also notes invalid traffic "may affect your channel, even if you're not intentionally driving it." With several channels on one account, a bought-views campaign or a bot-heavy embed on one channel is a risk to the payment of every channel. The practical step is to vet promotion services per channel before using them, not after.

When separate accounts make sense: the channels belong to different legal payees. A channel run by your company can sit on the company's AdSense account under the organisation exception in AdSense Help 9729, and a channel owned by a business partner should be paid to that partner's own account. Splitting accounts just to "isolate risk" under one name is the duplicate case Google turns down.

Seeing earnings for 2 YouTube channels on 1 AdSense account

Every linked channel's earnings land in the same AdSense for YouTube account. In the YouTube Studio Android app, the payment activity help page gives the path: Earn in the bottom menu, then under "Creator support & tools", tap "Your payment activity." The channel you are signed in to is shown in detail; the rest appear as a combined "Other channels" figure, and you need revenue-viewing permission for each channel.

The catch is permissions. If channel one sits under one email and channel two under another, the help page says the feature is unavailable. If you want the combined view, give one email Owner, Manager or Editor access to every channel.

We found no number on the YouTube or AdSense help pages we checked on 26 Oct 2026. The 500 figure on AdSense Help 9729 refers to reporting channels for websites ("500 custom channels and 500 URL channels per product"), not YouTube channels.

Does my second channel get monetized automatically once it is linked?

No. It has to meet the YPP thresholds and pass review as a channel in its own right; the shared AdSense account only handles payment.
