Publer vs Zernio (2026): Where Your X Bill Goes, and the Account Count Where the Two Ladders Cross

If you run ten X accounts that each post a link a few times a day, one of these two tools will charge you a flat subscription and the other will send you X's own meter reading. Both bill per account and both advertise volume discounts, so on the pricing page they look like close cousins. Your bill can still differ by a factor of ten depending on which network you post to.

That is the most useful thing to know about "publer vs zernio", and the rest of this comparison follows from it. Everything below uses both vendors' pages as of 2026-09-23. Where a number is our arithmetic rather than a price the vendor printed, we say so.

Two per-account ladders that are not built the same

Publer is a calendar-first scheduler with an account selector on the pricing card. Its own pricing endpoint returns the rates: Professional $4 per account per month, Business $7, with extra members at $2 or $3 each (the plan owner is included). The card adds a buy-nine-get-one rule, "For every 9 social accounts, the 10th one is free". There is also a small-account surcharge: one account costs $5 on Professional or $10 on Business. Ten accounts come to $36 or $63 month to month. Annual billing is 20% off every figure, although the toggle is labelled "2 months free". The Free plan covers 3 accounts and cannot connect X. The Publer API is only available on Business.

Zernio is an API product ("Everything social in one API") for developers and agents, with no plans and no seats. It charges per connected account on a progressive ladder: accounts 1 and 2 are free, 3 to 10 cost $6 each, 11 to 100 cost $3, and 101 onward cost $1. The pricing page shows four worked examples: 10 accounts for $48, 20 for $78, 100 for $318 and 1,000 for $1,218. Every feature is on every account. There was no annual option on the page. Zernio has also expanded into messaging: 10,000 messages a month are free, and phone numbers start at $3 a month.

The X line: a bundled cap versus X's own meter

X's API is no longer cheap for anyone building on it, and each vendor has chosen a different way to deal with that.

Publer bundles it and gates it. X is only available on paid plans, and the page gives the reason directly: "Due to the Twitter / X Enterprise API cost, we can only support Twitter / X accounts on a paid subscription basis." Once you are paying, X posting is included in the flat per-account price, up to a daily limit: 50 posts per X account on Professional and 100 on Business. Those caps are Publer's own. The same page says "While we offer unlimited scheduling in the paid plans, we enforce daily posting limits to prevent spamming and abuse", and adds that even where Publer waives them, "you may still be limited by the social networks themselves."

Zernio passes it through. Its pricing page says X is billed "at X's exact rates, zero markup": $0.005 per read request, $0.015 per post request, and $0.200 per post that includes a URL. Nothing is bundled, and nothing is capped by the vendor.

Publer turns X into a flat fee with a ceiling. Zernio turns it into a meter with no ceiling. Which is cheaper depends entirely on how often you post to X, and whether your posts carry links.

Run it for ten X accounts posting five times a day, about 1,500 posts a month. On Publer Professional that is $36 a month flat, well inside the 50-a-day cap. On Zernio it is $48 for the accounts plus X's charges: roughly $22.50 more for plain posts, or about $300 more if every post carries a link, since each post is at least one request. For link-heavy X publishing, the flat bundle wins by a wide margin. For accounts on other networks, where Zernio adds no per-post charge, the picture is very different.

Where the ladders cross if you don't post to X

Leave X aside and compare accounts only. At 10 accounts Publer Professional ($36) is cheaper than Zernio ($48). Past that, Publer's page did not give us verified totals, so what follows is our arithmetic from Publer's published $4 rate and its "10th one is free" rule. It is not a price Publer printed.

• 20 accounts: Publer Professional about $72 (18 paid × $4) vs Zernio $78.
• 30 accounts: Publer about $108 vs Zernio $108. About level.
• 40 accounts: Publer about $144 vs Zernio $138.
• 100 accounts: Publer about $360 vs Zernio $318, and every Zernio account past 100 costs $1.

Publer's discount is a flat one in ten, so its effective rate settles at $3.60 per account and stays there. Zernio's rate drops from $6 to $3 to $1, so the more accounts you connect, the further ahead Zernio gets. Against Publer Business, the plan that includes Publer's API and is therefore the fair match for a developer, Zernio is cheaper at every account count in the table.

What Publer offers that Zernio does not is the rest of a scheduler: a calendar, drafts, RSS automation, analytics on Business, and a free plan you can use without writing code. What Zernio offers is an API with messaging, comments, ads and webhooks on every account, and no seats to count. Picking one, and what neither of them does

1. Do you have a developer? If not, Zernio is not really an option. It is an API. Choose Publer and decide between Professional and Business based on whether you need analytics or the API.
2. How much of your volume is X? Heavy X posting, especially with links, favours Publer's flat bundle. Little or no X favours Zernio past about 30 accounts.
3. How many accounts in six months? Below about 30, Publer Professional. Well above, Zernio's $3 and then $1 bands pull clearly ahead.
4. Check the caps you will actually hit. Publer publishes its daily limits, so compare them with your plan. Zernio prints none of its own, but the platforms' limits still apply either way.

Neither tool writes posts. Publer schedules content you have made, and Zernio delivers content your code produces. Is Zernio cheaper than Publer?

It depends on account count and on X. By our arithmetic from Publer's published rates, Publer Professional is cheaper below about 30 accounts and Zernio above. Zernio is cheaper than Publer Business at every count we checked. If you post heavily to X, and especially with links, Zernio's pass-through X charges can make Publer much cheaper.

Does Zernio charge extra for X (Twitter)?

Yes. Zernio passes X API costs through at X's rates with no markup: $0.005 per read request, $0.015 per post request and $0.200 per post containing a URL, on top of the per-account price.

Does Publer limit posts per day?
