Blotato vs Upload-Post (2026): Credits or Video Minutes — Which Wall Do You Hit First?
- Blotato Starter is $29 for 20 social accounts but only 1,250 AI credits a month; Upload-Post Basic is $24 for 5 profiles with unlimited uploads but only 300 video minutes a month (both vendor pages, c
- They are not the same kind of product. Blotato is a panel you log into and create in; Upload-Post is a REST API you call from your own code or workflow.
- Upload-Post's free tier includes 8 networks but excludes TikTok — the second time we've seen a free plan drop precisely the network that's most expensive or most audited to support.
- Pick by which resource you burn: heavy AI generation with few uploads favours Blotato; heavy video volume from an existing pipeline favours Upload-Post.
You will find these two on the same shortlist and it is a slightly odd shortlist, because one of them has a login screen and the other one has an API key. But people do compare them, for a good reason: both promise "post everywhere from one place," and both are cheap enough that the decision feels low-stakes right up until you hit a limit you didn't know existed.
The headline numbers — $29 versus $24 — are close enough to be useless. The numbers that decide this are further down each page.
Both pricing tables, with the limit that actually bites
Blotato (blotato.com/pricing, 2026-09-02):
| Plan | Month | Social accounts | AI credits / month | Active contacts |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Starter | $29 | 20 | 1,250 | 1,000 |
| Creator | $97 | 40 | 5,000 | 6,000 |
| Agency | $499 | unlimited | 28,000 | 15,000 |
Upload-Post (upload-post.com, 2026-09-02):
| Plan | Month | Annual /mo | Profiles | Uploads | Video minutes / month |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | 2 | 10 | 30 |
| Basic | $24 | $16 | 5 | unlimited | 300 |
| Professional | $50 | $33 | 25 | unlimited | 1,000 |
| Advanced | $147 | $118 | 75 | unlimited | 3,000 |
| Business | $438 | $350 | 225 | unlimited | 10,000 |
"Unlimited uploads" is true and irrelevant. The meter is running on video minutes, and that is the number that will end your month.
This is the part worth internalising, because it generalises far beyond these two vendors. Every tool in this category advertises one number and gates you on a different one. We have now catalogued six vendors and six different gating units: seats, fair-use post caps per channel, AI credits, posts per profile, video minutes, and active contacts. Not one of them repeats. So the useful question on any pricing page is not "what's the second number" — it's "which unit did this vendor put the gate on?"

They are not competing for the same job
Blotato is a workspace. You log in, it writes and generates, and it posts. The AI credits are the product — they're consumed by image and video generation, and that is what the tier ladder is really selling. 20 accounts on the $29 plan looks generous ($1.45 per account) until you notice that 1,250 credits do not go far if generation is the reason you're there.
Upload-Post is plumbing. One REST call fans out to 22 networks — TikTok, Instagram, YouTube, Facebook, LinkedIn, X, Threads, Pinterest, Reddit, Bluesky, Google Business, Discord, Telegram, Slack, Mastodon, Nostr, Lemmy, Dev.to, Hashnode, WordPress, Whop, Listmonk. There is no creative layer to speak of; you bring finished files. If you already have a pipeline that produces videos, this is the cheapest way to stop writing per-platform upload code.
So the comparison only makes sense if you're genuinely undecided about how you want to work, not about which vendor is better.
The free tier tells you what the vendor pays for
Upload-Post's free plan gives you 2 profiles and 10 uploads across Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, Facebook, X, Threads, Pinterest and Reddit — and pointedly not TikTok.
That is not an accident, and it is the second time we have recorded the pattern. Metricool's free tier drops LinkedIn and X. Upload-Post's drops TikTok. In both cases the missing network is the one that is most expensive or most gated to support, not the one users want least. A missing network on a free plan is a fact about the vendor's cost structure, not about the network. Keep that in mind the next time a free tier looks suspiciously complete.
One thing an API cannot compress
Unified posting APIs abstract the call. They do not abstract the eligibility. Your Instagram account still has to be a Professional account. TikTok still requires its own developer review. LinkedIn still needs the right scopes. When you plan the work, split it into two buckets:
- Code — genuinely compressible. One integration instead of nine is real savings.
- Account and approval prep — barely compressible at all, and it is usually the longer bucket.
Teams that miss this ship the integration in two days and then wait three weeks on platform reviews, which is a bad surprise to have priced at zero.

A third shape neither one covers
Both tools assume the accounts you're posting to are, in some sense, one publisher. Blotato's credits meter creative output centrally; Upload-Post takes one payload and fans it out. If you're running many accounts that are supposed to read as different people — different niches, different voices, no duplicate copy — a fan-out tool is structurally the wrong shape, no matter how cheap the per-account column looks.
That is the case NoobClaw is built for: each account gets its own local browser profile and generates its own content from its own niche and persona, rather than receiving a copy of a central post. It's a desktop app, you sign into your own accounts on your own machine, and there's no unified API layer in the middle — which is a real trade-off if you wanted the API. Worth naming so you can rule it out cleanly if that's what you came for.
FAQ
Which is cheaper per account?
Blotato Starter is $1.45 per account at 20 accounts; Upload-Post is $4.80 at Basic and flattens to about $1.95 from Professional upward. But per-account cost is the wrong metric for both of them — Blotato gates on credits and Upload-Post gates on video minutes, so estimate your monthly generation volume and your monthly video minutes first, then price the plan that clears both.
Can I use Upload-Post without writing code?
It is an API product first. There is tooling around it, but the intended buyer is a developer or someone wiring it into an automation platform. If reading "REST call" made you uneasy, Blotato's panel is the more honest fit and you should not talk yourself into the cheaper line item.
Does either one support Chinese platforms?
No. Both cover Western networks only. Douyin, Xiaohongshu, Kuaishou, WeChat Channels and Bilibili are outside the scope of every unified API in this category, largely because none of them offer the kind of open publishing API these products are built on. If those platforms are in your plan, this entire comparison is the wrong shortlist.
