SocialBee vs Later (2026): Later Bills Your Busiest Network, SocialBee Bills Every Account
- The two tools count accounts differently. SocialBee counts every connected profile (2 Instagram + 1 Facebook + 2 X = 5). A Later "social set" holds one profile from each of its eight networks, so the
- At the margin SocialBee sells 5 profiles for $15 a month and Later sells one more set (one slot per network) for $15. If your brands each use about 5 networks, from two brands up the two cost almost t
- If you run many accounts on one network, such as 10 TikTok accounts, SocialBee costs $44 to $49 a month and Later costs $170, because Later needs ten sets to hold ten TikTok profiles.
- Later caps scheduled posts at 30 (Starter) or 180 (Growth) per profile per month, counted when scheduled. Later does not list X; SocialBee does not list Snapchat. Personal Instagram accounts only get
Pick the cheaper of SocialBee and Later by looking at the headline price and you will get it wrong in both directions. Later's $25 Starter looks cheaper than SocialBee's $29 Bootstrap, and for one brand on a few networks it is. Put ten TikTok accounts on each tool and Later costs more than three times as much. Put five brands on seven networks each and Later wins. The reason is one line on each pricing page that defines what an "account" is.
We re-read SocialBee's pricing page, Later's pricing page and both help centers on September 26, 2026. Prices are monthly billing in USD before tax unless stated.
How do SocialBee and Later count your accounts?
SocialBee counts profiles one by one. Its comparison table gives the example: "if you connect 2 Instagram profiles, 1 Facebook page, and 2 X (Twitter) profiles, it counts as 5 accounts." Bootstrap ($29) includes 5, Accelerate ($49) 10, Pro ($99) 25, and the agency plans Pro50, Pro100 and Pro150 cost $179, $329 and $449. Extra profiles come in sets of five for $15 a month ($150 a year), and the page shows that add-on as available on Bootstrap, Accelerate and Pro.
Later counts in social sets. The pricing table says "Social sets include one profile from each of Later's supported social platforms", and the FAQ spells out the eight: Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Pinterest, LinkedIn, YouTube, Threads and Snapchat. Starter ($25) has 1 set, Growth ($50) has 2, Scale ($110) has 6. An extra set costs $15 a month on Growth and Scale ($11.25 on yearly billing); Starter's card says "Extra Social Sets, users and AI credits not available".
So "8 profiles" on Later is not eight of anything you choose. It is one Instagram, one TikTok, one YouTube and so on. A second TikTok account needs a second set, even if the other seven slots in the first set are empty. The number of Later sets you need equals the number of accounts on your busiest single network.
Later's own help center confirms the slot rule in plain words. Its Social Sets article says a set "can include 1 of each social profile" and that "to add 2 Instagram profiles to your Later account, you need to be on a plan that allows at least 2 Social Sets." The same logic cuts the other way when a network leaves the list. One long-time Later customer wrote on Trustpilot on August 30, 2025 that Later's decision "to no longer support X/Twitter" cost them "at least 33% of the value", because they scheduled mainly for Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, and that Later made no price concession or prorated refund. After "5+ years of use" they said they would not renew. That is one customer's account, not a company statement, but it shows what a set model means in practice: you pay for the slots in the set whether or not every network in it is one you use.

SocialBee vs Later pricing: at how many accounts does each one win?
Both tools charge $15 for the next block. SocialBee's buys five profiles on any networks ($3 each); Later's buys one more slot on each of eight networks. If each brand uses five networks, the blocks buy the same thing. We checked this against the plan prices and it holds from two brands up at every size we tried (with one brand, Later Starter at $25 is simply cheaper): 3 brands on 5 networks cost $64 on SocialBee (Accelerate plus one 5-profile pack) and $65 on Later (Growth plus one set); 20 brands on 5 networks cost $319 and $320.
The SocialBee column uses Accelerate as the base, because it is the cheapest plan with CSV uploads and the bulk post editor; the Bootstrap route is $20 cheaper up to 5 accounts and $5 cheaper from 6 accounts up, but lacks both.
| What you run | Accounts | SocialBee (Accelerate route) | Later |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 brand on 4 networks | 4 | $49 (Bootstrap: $29) | $25 (Starter) |
| 3 brands on 4 networks | 12 | $64 | $65 (Growth + 1 set) |
| 5 brands on 4 networks | 20 | $79 | $95 |
| 10 brands on 4 networks | 40 | $139 | $170 |
| 5 brands on 7 networks | 35 | $124 | $95 |
| 10 TikTok accounts only | 10 | $49 (Bootstrap + 1 pack: $44) | $170 (10 sets) |
| 20 TikTok accounts only | 20 | $79 | $320 (20 sets) |
For a single brand spread across several networks, Later Starter is the cheapest entry at $25. For anyone running several accounts on the same network, which is the usual shape of a faceless or multi-account setup, SocialBee is cheaper from the second account onward: two TikTok accounts already need Later Growth at $50. At six sets Later's own maths flattens out: Growth plus four extra sets costs $50 + 4 × $15 = $110, exactly the price of Scale. From there the two routes cost the same, so take Scale, which adds unlimited posts and users.
Later charges for the network you use most. SocialBee charges for every account you connect. Count accounts per network before you compare prices.
Yearly billing tilts this towards Later: its discount is 25%, SocialBee's 16%, so a 5-profile pack works out at $12.50 a month against $11.25 for a set. Brands on five networks then come out slightly cheaper on Later; four or fewer still favor SocialBee.
One caveat: SocialBee states no maximum for stacking 5-profile packs, so confirm before relying on many of them. Stacking is cheaper on paper (50 profiles: $169 on Accelerate plus eight packs, against $179 for Pro50), but Pro50 adds 10 workspaces and 5 users per workspace.
Which limits do the pricing pages bury?
Later caps how many posts you can queue. Starter allows 30 scheduled posts per profile per month, Growth 180, Scale unlimited. The FAQ adds that "Posts count when they're scheduled — not when they're published." Thirty is one post a day. SocialBee's pricing page shows no monthly post cap per profile. Its limits sit on content categories (10, 50 or unlimited) and posts stored per category (1,000 on Bootstrap, 5,000 above).
Each tool skips a network the other covers. Later's supported list has no X, and it has not had one on any check we have made since September 9, 2026. We found no Later announcement of the change on its pricing page; the Trustpilot review quoted above dates the customer-side experience to August 2025. SocialBee lists X, Bluesky and Google Business Profile, and a "Universal Posting" option for Telegram, WhatsApp, Quora and others, which the pricing page describes as scheduling "with the help of our mobile app" (you finish the post yourself). SocialBee has no Snapchat; Later lists Snapchat Spotlight and Stories.

Personal accounts are a second-class citizen on both. SocialBee's Instagram help page says "direct posting is available only for Professional (Business or Creator) accounts and via reminders for Personal account." Later's auto-publish line names "Instagram business profiles or creator accounts". YouTube is the exception on Later: its YouTube Shorts help page says both personal and brand channels are supported, but only Shorts between 15 seconds and 3 minutes, and not from Android. That page also says paid plans have no posting limit for Shorts, which conflicts with the pricing page's 30 per profile; confirm with Later. SocialBee's pricing page lists "Instagram (business, personal)" under direct posting, which contradicts its own help page; we go by the help page. Its list also includes TikTok "personal and pro" and YouTube channels, with regular videos as well as Shorts.
SocialBee or Later: which should you pick?
Pick Later if you run one brand, or a handful of brands, each spread across six or more networks (five if you bill yearly); your work is visual planning for Instagram and TikTok; you need Snapchat; or one post a day per account is enough for Starter.
Pick SocialBee if you run more than one account on the same network, need X, Bluesky or Google Business Profile, want evergreen recycling by category, or plan to queue more than 30 posts per profile a month without paying for Growth. For multi-account operators the gap is not small: 20 TikTok accounts cost $79 against $320.
The case against each: Later's per-network sets punish the shape a matrix or faceless operator has, and its X gap rules it out there. SocialBee's bulk tools start at $49, and its reminder-based options (personal Instagram, Universal Posting) are not automation. Both publish through official APIs and both expect you to bring finished posts; SocialBee's unlimited AI writes captions, not videos.
If your bottleneck is producing different posts for many accounts, a scheduler only solves the last step. NoobClaw is one alternative for that shape: a desktop app that generates content per account from each account's niche and persona and publishes through local browser sessions you log into yourself, with billing per action or per piece of content rather than per connected profile (plans still cap accounts per platform). The trade-off is that your computer has to be on and browser automation is not an official API route. Platform rules apply either way: TikTok's Community Guidelines allow multiple accounts, "but not to deceive others or break the rules", and prohibit "automation tools, scripts, or other tricks designed to bypass our systems", so keep a human review step whatever tool you use.

FAQ
Is SocialBee cheaper than Later?
For one brand on several networks, Later Starter ($25) is cheaper than SocialBee Bootstrap ($29). For two or more accounts on the same network SocialBee is cheaper, often by a wide margin: 10 TikTok accounts cost $44 to $49 on SocialBee and $170 on Later (monthly billing, September 26, 2026). From two brands up, brands using about five networks each cost nearly the same on both.
Does Later support X (Twitter)?
Not according to its pricing page. The page lists Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, Threads, YouTube, Pinterest, LinkedIn and Snapchat, and its social set definition names the same eight. SocialBee lists X among its direct-posting networks (its vendor-written Later comparison stresses the same point).
Do scheduled posts that fail or get deleted count against Later's limit?
Later's FAQ says posts count "when they're scheduled — not when they're published", and the pricing page does not say that deleting a scheduled post returns the slot. We compared how Later and Publer handle returned slots in Publer vs Later.
