Metricool vs SocialBee (2026): Brands, Profiles and Workspaces Are Three Different Meters
- Metricool has a second price ladder hidden inside each tier: Starter is 16 euro for 5 brands or 29 euro for 10; Advanced is 43, 69 or 130 euro for 15, 25 or 50 brands.
- SocialBee counts social profiles inside workspaces, with Bootstrap at 5 profiles, 1 user and 1 workspace.
- A Metricool brand is a bundle of that brand social networks; a SocialBee profile is one network. The units are not interchangeable.
- Metricool free plan excludes LinkedIn and Twitter/X entirely, which is the detail that decides it for most people.
Two tools, similar reputations, wildly different meters. If you compare the entry prices you will conclude they are near-identical and pick on interface preference. That conclusion survives about ten minutes of real use.
Prices below were taken first-hand on 14 September 2026.
Metricool: the ladder inside the ladder
| Plan | Price | Brands | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | 0 euro | 1 | 20 scheduled posts a month, 5 competitors, 30 days of analytics. No LinkedIn, no Twitter/X |
| Starter | 16 euro | up to 5 | Unlimited publishing, 100 competitors, LinkedIn connection, unlimited analytics history |
| Starter | 29 euro | up to 10 | Same features, more brands |
| Advanced | 43 euro | up to 15 | Teams, roles, approvals, full X analytics, Looker Studio, API |
| Advanced | 69 euro | up to 25 | Same features |
| Advanced | 130 euro | up to 50 | Same features |
That second ladder is the trap. Almost every comparison article — and several of our own earlier ones — quotes Metricool as from 16 euro. If you need ten brands it is 29 euro, and if you need fifty it is 130 euro. Quoting the floor understates the real cost by between 45 percent and 700 percent depending on where you land.
When a pricing page says from, the number after it is a marketing artefact. Find the sub-ladder before you build the spreadsheet.

SocialBee: profiles inside workspaces
SocialBee Bootstrap is described as best for freelancers and solopreneurs: up to 5 social profiles from one workspace, 1 user, 1 workspace, 10 content categories, 10 content sources, unlimited AI content generation, and analytics limited to 3 months of data. Accelerate steps up to 10 profiles with advanced analytics and hashtag tools. There are separate Standard and Agency product lines.
One honest disclosure: the price figures did not render cleanly in our capture this round, so we are not putting SocialBee prices in a comparison table. We have a standing rule about this after publishing a competitor price that turned out to be a parsing error — structure gets written, numbers wait for a clean read. Feature structure above is quoted directly from the page and is safe.
The unit problem, stated precisely
This is the whole article in one paragraph, so it is worth being exact.
- A Metricool brand is a container holding all the social networks belonging to one brand. One brand on six platforms is one brand.
- A SocialBee profile is one connected social account. One brand on six platforms is six profiles.
So a small agency with five clients across four platforms each needs 5 Metricool brands (the 16 euro rung) or 20 SocialBee profiles (well beyond Accelerate). Same workload, two completely different rows on two price lists.
This is the same failure we documented with Planoly, where a social set is a cross-platform bundle and treating it as one account overstated value by three times. The habit that prevents it: before filling a price-per-account column, work out what the vendor unit is actually counting. More examples of the trap in the cheapest scheduler measured per account.

The free plans decide it more often than the paid ones
Metricool free plan is generous on analytics and stingy where it matters: it excludes LinkedIn and Twitter/X. For a B2B operator that is not a limitation, it is a disqualification — those are the two networks they came for. For a creator on Instagram, TikTok and YouTube it costs nothing at all.
SocialBee runs a 14-day trial with a 30-day money-back guarantee rather than a permanent free tier, which is a different bet: try everything, decide once.
The pattern across every free tier we have catalogued holds here too — free plans do not cut the post count, they cut a network, a feature, or a device. See what every free tier actually limits.
Which to pick
Metricool if you manage distinct brands or clients and care about reporting. The brand unit is efficient when each brand spans several platforms, the analytics are the strongest part of the product, and the Advanced tier at 130 euro for 50 brands is a genuinely competitive agency price once you find that rung.
SocialBee if your work is category-based evergreen recycling — its content categories and sources model is built around reposting a library on a schedule, which Metricool does not really do.
Neither if what you run is many accounts in one niche that each need different content. Both tools assume a brand has one voice and one calendar. See Metricool vs Blotato for where the reporting model and the generation model part ways, and RecurPost vs SocialBee for the recycling comparison specifically.
Run the numbers on your own account list, not on theirs
Because the units differ, the only comparison that means anything is the one you build from your own inventory. It takes five minutes and it settles the question permanently.
- List your brands or clients. A brand is a distinct identity with its own voice — not a platform.
- Under each, list the platforms it publishes to. Be honest: platforms you own but never post to do not count, and most lists shrink by a third at this step.
- Count both totals. Brands gives you the Metricool rung. Brands multiplied by platforms gives you the SocialBee profile count.
- Find the rung, not the plan name. Metricool Starter is two different prices and Advanced is three. Read the sub-line, not the header.
Two worked examples make the divergence obvious. A solo creator with one brand on four platforms is one Metricool brand — the free plan, if they do not need LinkedIn or X — versus four SocialBee profiles, inside the entry tier. Close enough that either works.
An agency with eight clients on five platforms each is eight Metricool brands, which lands on the 29 euro Starter rung, versus forty SocialBee profiles, which is far beyond the profile tiers we could read. Same workload; the two answers are not remotely comparable. That divergence grows linearly with platforms per brand, which is exactly the variable neither pricing page asks you about.
The general habit worth taking away: count your inventory in the vendor unit before you look at the vendor price. Almost every bad tool purchase we have traced started with comparing two headline numbers that were denominated in different things.
FAQ
Is Metricool 16 euro plan enough for one small agency?
Only up to 5 brands. The same plan name at 29 euro covers 10. Check which rung you need before budgeting, because the plan name is identical on both and the difference is not obvious in a screenshot.
Does SocialBee count each platform separately?
Yes — it counts social profiles, so one brand on five platforms consumes five of them. That makes it more expensive than it looks for multi-platform brands and cheaper than it looks for single-platform operators.
Why are you not quoting SocialBee prices?
Because our capture of the pricing page returned a malformed figure this round, and we have a rule that a number we cannot read cleanly does not go into a comparison table. The feature structure is quoted directly and is reliable; check the current price on the vendor page before deciding.
